Customer complaint on this one folks is a rattling noise in the rear and well sometimes just because you can doesn't mean you should uh, we see the pigtail and the caliper here you got that all twisted around and more importantly, you see this and that's because the Wheel is the only thing holding the caliper on at this point folks, and that is why we always always torque to factory specs.
6 years ago, this happened to me… Only I heard when the bolts flew out, while on the highway. That was the last time I let anyone else do my car's brakes.
Mysteriously even after that torque to factory specs those bolts come loose they really do all by themselves the factory uses blue Loctite so nobody else does afterwards I'm old I seen a lot of stuff it really happens
Lol nothing to do with factory specs. They literally forgot to tighten those caliper slider bolts.
Some schmuck got a cell phone call in the middle of a SAFETY RELATED REPAIR!!! whats more important? Your customers surviving thru the day, or answering your friends phone call?
Im angry, cause im 59 years old and i see all these young idiots that cant stay off their phones while at work..YOUR SUPPOSED TO BE CONCENTRATING ON YOUR BOSSES OBJECTIVES
That's why you don't let sissy's work on cars. You don't need a torque wrench to make sure a bolt it good and tight
By the look of the bolt ends, whoever installed the brake pads forgot to even bother reinstalling the bolts, let alone torque to spec…
Those pads look newish ace mech doesn't always equal ace quality speed ,😔✌️🙏 could kill someone unexpectedly …
Brakes might not be something to “pinch pennies” on! You know Eric… a metal wedge in the rim stops better than semi-metallic any day of the week!!! 😜
Off camera no one torques them to factory spec, that someone who watched too much YouTube and did his own brakes
Seen this cut wheels in 1/2 when customers do their own/some guy does them. So costs you a wheel and tire cause it deflates so fast u destroy it. Sad really its gotta make noise. Im so wired into every lil tick and noise in my truck/car i duno how people drive through issues
The first two years out of high school I worked on a GM assembly line. It was my job to check the torque holding the calipers on. They really mean it because it was checked by two inspectors with separate tools, at different places on the line. We both had to agree that the calipers were "torqued to spec."
Had that happen in the middle of nowhere in northern NH. 15 minutes from the Canadian border on a dirt road. Tourque specs were not enough. Definitely needed thread locker. Glad I'm not the only one. Thanks for sharing
I sheared a caliper bolt on front right while tapping brakes on highway! Almost killed myself scared the crap out of me!!
Whoever is working on your vehicle needs to learn how to work on a vehicle. If not , Then find Someone that knows what they are doing. Doing repair work like this will get someone hurt or worse.
