In this short video I show you the classic GM AFM engine cam lifter failure. Pretty sad GM aka General Mess
We've got the very lovely misses, though. Are you ready, mrs? Oh? Don't you don't restart it till? I tell you so we got this chevrolet 6.0 liter came in new injectors, it's got the new plugs the new wires. It's still got the skipping. What's it got? Mrs? Oh, i'm pretty sure one of these things is different than the other go ahead shut it down.
Mrs though we found the problem, you're gon na need a lifter lady. So just remember folks, if your plugs and your wires and your injectors don't fix it or your new computer uh, you might just need a good old-fashioned, camo lifters.
If it makes you feel better, my 2021 silverado 6.2 with 4900 miles has a lifter on its way out, motor was banging and knocking and could hear it was down a cylinder… waiting for it to throw a code so I can get it fixed 🤦♂️
GM sticking to tradition. Taking the best things they've made, and then ruining them. Pre AFM LS based engines were basically work horses that lasted forever, even with infrequent maintenance. Then GM went back to the drawing board, and said "We can make this more complicated and expensive!" And the AFM engines were born. Lifter failure can occur anywhere between 3k-70k miles. Usually the lifters last just a few miles outside of warranty so GM is absolved of any warranty work. GM treating their customers right.
It's a Chevy do you expect anything different tow it to the junk yard.
Maybe it's just on strike. Have you offered it more money and 8 week of paid vacation?
Lifters by Dorman? 2021 GMC Denali needed lifters, they sprung open in the engine. Three weeks waiting for parts under warranty.
If you only knew how many voyager diesels I bought because of the scare tactics other garages used by claiming engine failure while in fact it was a rocker bridge bolt that loosened and didn't allow valves to open. Good times. For me of course. Sorry people.
My son has a 2010 with that engine in it had the same thing had them change all 4 lifters
I take it that is roller lifter problem that GM engines are haven.
lifter failure on an AFM engine? never seen that before
AFM is garbage and the lifter design is flawed so GM changes nothing to fix it
Ridiculous how someone would not try a compression check first. Ok, if it is an exhaust lifter, I suppose compression would still be good. Even the Harbor Freight special has never failed me. Same o ring too after 7 years.
Your shorts are always right next to Scotty's shorts. 🤣🤣
At least the brand new GM engines only bend pushrods every ten minutes.
Imagine that a cam failure on an LS most likely the displacement on demand gremlin.
